BCPG Profit Soars 146% in First Half 2026 Driven by New Power Projects and SAF Gains

Renewable energy company BCPG reported a significant surge in its normalized net profit for the first half of 2026, reaching 810.6 million baht, an increase of 146.3% year-on-year. This robust growth was primarily driven by contributions from newly operational power projects and income generated from its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) operations. BCPG President and CEO Rawee Boonsinsukh stated that the second quarter normalized net profit stood at 180.8 million baht, marking a 37.9% rise from the same period last year. This improvement was supported by revenue from new projects and enhanced financial cost management. Second-quarter revenue totaled 806.7 million baht, up 3.4% year-on-year, largely due to improved performance of hydropower plants in Laos, increased electricity sales from solar power projects in Thailand, and the addition of solar rooftop projects with a combined capacity of 19.6 megawatts. The company also benefited from higher profit contributions from a natural gas power plant in the United States, attributed to increased capacity payments, along with reduced financial costs. For the first six months of 2026, BCPG's total revenue reached 1.9 billion baht, a 26.1% increase year-on-year. This growth was underpinned by revenue recognition from its district cooling system project, stronger performance from Laos hydropower plants and Thai solar farms, expanded solar rooftop capacity, and growth in its oil storage and port businesses. Contributions from the Monsoon wind power project in Laos and the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility operated by the Bangchak Group, which has commenced commercial operations, were also recognized. Mr. Boonsinsukh reiterated BCPG's focus on improving efficiency across its existing projects while actively pursuing new investments that align with its long-term strategy to deliver sustainable returns for shareholders.
