Police in Ilocos Sur, Philippines, discovered three marijuana cultivation sites, seizing approximately 600 fully grown plants and 1,400 seedlings. The operation is part of an ongoing campaign to eradicate illegal drugs in the province.
In San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur, police on Saturday discovered and seized approximately 600 fully grown marijuana plants and 1,400 seedlings from three cultivation sites in the town of Sugpon. According to the Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office (ISPPO), the marijuana eradication operation was conducted in Barangay Caoayan, Sugpon, covering an estimated 111 square meters. The operation was led by Lt. Col. David Dulnuan, deputy provincial director for operations, with personnel from the ISPPO Drug Enforcement Unit, 2nd Ilocos Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company, ISPPO Intelligence and Detective Management Unit-KIMAT, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region I, and Sugpon police. The confiscated marijuana plants and seedlings are estimated to be worth P176,000. The operation is part of the ISPPO’s continuing campaign to eliminate marijuana cultivation and curb the illegal drug trade in the province.
