Cambodian Ruling Party Strengthens Local Organization with Village Party Leaders Meeting

In Kampong Thom Province, Cambodia, a meeting was held on August 8th with local cadres of the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) in Salavisei Commune. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Heng Somnang, leader of the Salavisei Commune Working Group for Grassroots Affairs, and attended by approximately 200 party members. During the meeting, Mr. Chin Hin, Chairman of the Salavisei Commune Party Committee, welcomed the presence of Dr. Heng Somnang and the working group, emphasizing the party's high regard and significant encouragement for local party leaders, especially the "Party Group Leaders" who serve as the strong backbone and frontline in grasping the situation and directly serving the people. Mr. Chin Hin also expressed gratitude to Mr. Tri Pheap, Chairman of the Prasat Balang District Working Group for Grassroots Affairs, through Dr. Heng Somnang, for his past support in administrative, developmental, and humanitarian activities, which have led to improvements in the local areas. Dr. Heng Somnang stated that Party Group Leaders are crucial links between the party and the citizens in each household, as well as direct party members. He praised the diligent efforts of the Party Group Leaders in Salavisei Commune in serving the people, maintaining solidarity, and strengthening the party's foundation at the grassroots level, which contributed to successes in commune council and prime ministerial elections. On this occasion, the chairman commended the Salavisei Commune Chief for his popularity and the respect he commands from leaders and citizens alike, as well as their trust in his public service and local development efforts. He noted the significant achievements in each village under the wise leadership of the commune chief. Dr. Heng Somnang encouraged the citizens of Salavisei Commune to vote for the Cambodian People's Party to allow this popular commune chief to continue leading the area in the upcoming Commune/Sangkat Council elections in 2027. Dr. Heng Somnang emphasized that according to the commune chief's report, Salavisei Commune has seen continuous development in all sectors under the attention of national leaders and the intelligent leadership of the commune chief in engaging with various partners for development. This has led to improved economic conditions for the citizens, helping to reduce poverty through development in certain areas, providing employment, and enabling residents to earn a decent income for their daily lives. Dr. Heng Somnang, leader of the Salavisei Commune Working Group for Grassroots Affairs, appealed to the Party Group Leaders and all citizens to participate in maintaining security and political stability, protecting peace, and continuing to support and vote for the Cambodian People's Party under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Party and President of the Senate, and Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. He stated this would lead the country to peace, political stability, development in all sectors, and a respected position on the international stage. It is noted that during the meeting with Party Group Leaders and Party Family members in Salavisei Commune, which has 19 village party branches and 643 Party Group Leaders, Dr. Heng Somnang provided each Party Group Leader with 30,000 Riel (approximately $10 USD) in cash, along with other expenses, totaling 80 million Riel (approximately $20,000 USD).
