Vietnam has secured its first medals at the ongoing ASIAD 2026, clinching bronze in both teqball and karate. In the karate bronze-medal bout held at Toyohashi Gymnasium in Toyohashi city, Japan's Aichi prefecture, Bui Ngoc Nhi delivered a confident performance to beat Singapore’s Leong Wai Yee Shannon 4–1. Earlier on the same morning, in the teqball bronze-medal match, Nguyen Hoang Minh Tan and Trinh Gia Nghi put on a confident display, overcoming their Indian opponents with a straight-sets victory of 2–0 (12–9, 12–6). These victories mark Vietnam's initial medal haul at the Games, boosting the morale of the athletes and the nation's sports contingent.
