Ayeyarwady River water levels may reach warning levels in Seikkyi, Hinthada and Zalun

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology announced on September 8 that the Ayeyarwady River water levels may reach warning levels in Seikkyi, Hinthada, and Zalun. According to measurements taken at 6:30 AM on September 8, the Ayeyarwady River in Seikkyi is currently 1 foot 8 inches below its warning level and is expected to reach the warning level within the next 36 hours. In Hinthada, the Ayeyarwady River is approximately 2 feet 4 inches below the city's warning level and is expected to reach the warning level within the next two days. Similarly, in Zalun, the Ayeyarwady River is about 2 feet 1 inch below the city's warning level and is expected to reach the warning level within the next two days. Therefore, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a warning for residents living near the riverbanks and in low-lying areas of Seikkyi, Hinthada Township, and Zalun Township to take precautions and be prepared to evacuate in a timely manner if the river water rises.
