Khao Kheow Open Zoo Welcomes Baby Capybara, Offers Free Entry for Children

CHONBURI, Thailand – Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi has welcomed a new member of its capybara family, with the arrival of a healthy baby capybara that is already winning the hearts of visitors. The baby capybara, named “Nong Wan,” was born on June 22 to mother “Krathi” and father “Siang,” bringing excitement to visitors at the zoo’s capybara exhibit. Zoo director Narongwit Chodchoi said the female baby capybara is in good health after being raised naturally by its mother, allowing it to develop normally while reducing stress. To celebrate the public holiday on July 28, the zoo is also offering free entry for children aged 12 and under, or those shorter than 135 centimeters, on that day only.
