Six arrested for armed robbery in Mawlamyine

Five men and one woman have been arrested in connection with an incident where firearms were used to threaten and rob the Ko Ko Nyi Nyi Electrical Goods Store on Kanna Road in Marangon Ward, Mawlamyine City, Mon State, according to the Myanmar Police Force. The incident occurred on the morning of August 28, when three masked men allegedly threatened store employees with firearms, tied up three female staff members with tape, and stole gold and diamond jewelry worth over 5 million kyats, including 500,000 kyats in cash from the safe and cabinets. The perpetrators were apprehended in Mawlamyine Township and Kaimaraw Township along with the evidence. Efforts are currently underway to secure the evidence and take legal action against the perpetrators in accordance with the law.
