The victim, identified as Lient Pisey, sustained injuries to her face and nose and was transported to a hospital in Phnom Penh with the projectile still lodged in her face. Pol Vutthy, Deputy Police Commissioner and spokesperson for the Kampong Chhnang Provincial Police, stated on September 4th that the incident may not have involved a firearm, suggesting that a slingshot or air gun might have been used.
