Prey Nob District Authorities Inspect and Plan Technical Restoration of Water Reservoirs
Prey Nob District in Cambodia has initiated a technical plan to restore two water reservoirs in Samrong and Andoung Thom communes. The project aims to enhance water storage capacity by removing silt and sand, ensuring a stable supply for residents during the dry season, aligning with the government's 'Pentagonal Strategy'.
Prey Nob District Governor, Mr. Ee Tharin, on the morning of Monday, July 27, 2026, inspected and planned the technical restoration of water reservoirs located in Samrong and Andoung Thom communes, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province. This initiative involves dredging silt and sand from the reservoir beds to maximize the storage capacity of clean water for use during the upcoming dry season. The preparations are aimed at ensuring water security for the daily needs of the residents during the dry period, in line with the Pentagonal Strategy of the Royal Government of Cambodia for the 7th legislature of the National Assembly. Concurrently, the Prey Nob District Governor also inspected the technical aspects of managing heavy rainfall flowing from the mountains. This includes controlling the opening and closing of water gates to ensure the safety of the water within the reservoirs and to serve the long-term interests of the citizens. Furthermore, the District Governor appealed to the residents living near these two clean water sources to cooperate in preserving and managing them, emphasizing that they are a common benefit for everyone.
