Vietnamese Community in Poland Honors Fallen Heroes, Spreads 'Gratitude' Spirit

A memorial event commemorating the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27) was held, spreading the spirit of "Uống nước nhớ nguồn" (drinking water, remembering its source) within the Vietnamese community in Poland. This event, jointly organized by the Vietnamese Veterans Club in Poland and the Vietnamese Embassy in Poland, is considered to have profound humanitarian significance. The ceremony was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai, embassy staff, representatives of the Vietnamese Defense Attaché Office in Poland, along with numerous representatives of the Vietnamese community organizations and members of the Vietnamese Veterans Club in Poland. In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Duy Tien, President of the Vietnamese Veterans Club in Poland, reviewed the historical significance of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, emphasizing the nation's fine traditions and moral principles of "Uống nước nhớ nguồn" and "Đền ơn đáp nghĩa" (repaying gratitude). Mr. Tien expressed deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, and those who contributed to the revolution for their sacrifices for the nation's independence, freedom, and unity. He also conveyed his sincere thanks to the Vietnamese Embassy, distinguished guests, and community members for their consistent attention and support for the club's gratitude and root-seeking activities over the years. Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai emphasized that this day is an occasion for every Vietnamese citizen, whether at home or living, studying, and working abroad, to remember and express gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence and peace. The Ambassador reaffirmed that the immense sacrifices of previous generations are the foundation for Vietnam's current position and development achievements. He acknowledged and commended the positive contributions of the Vietnamese Veterans Club in Poland in preserving and promoting revolutionary traditions, organizing gratitude activities, and contributing to building a united and compassionate Vietnamese community abroad. Furthermore, the Ambassador called on the younger generation within the community to inherit and promote the nation's beautiful values, live responsibly towards themselves, their families, and society, and contribute to enhancing the image of Vietnamese people in Poland. In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, attendees observed a moment of silence to remember the great contributions of the heroic martyrs. Special artistic performances by club members and community members, featuring revolutionary songs and songs praising the homeland and the country, further deepened the spirit of gratitude and national pride. This commemorative gathering is an annual, meaningful humanitarian activity that contributes to spreading the "Uống nước nhớ nguồn" spirit within the Vietnamese community in Poland and reaffirms the solidarity and bond of Vietnamese people living far from their homeland.
