81st Anniversary of Vietnam People's Public Security Marked by Running Event

A large-scale running event, "Journey of 81 Years - For National Security," commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security, was held on February 8 at NovaWorld Phan Thiet in Binh Thuan province. The event attracted over 5,000 runners, including 450 active police officers. Participants competed across four distances: marathon (42km), half-marathon (21km), 10km, and 5km. As early as 3 AM, many runners had gathered at the starting point. The marathon (42km) officially kicked off at 4 AM, followed by the half-marathon 15 minutes later. At 5:30 AM and 6 AM, runners for the 10km and 5km races, respectively, joined the procession along coastal avenues, resort areas, and amusement parks. Many participants wore vibrant red commemorative T-shirts, the event's symbolic color, which adorned the course amidst lush greenery and European-style architecture, creating a dynamic sports atmosphere. The route, passing by expansive coastal squares and Bikini Beach, offered participants diverse scenery. Runners crossed the finish line to enthusiastic cheers from spectators and volunteers.
