Son La Flood Claims Three Children, Final Victim Found

In Vietnam's northern Son La province, a tragic flash flood incident has claimed the lives of three children. After hours of intensive search efforts, authorities announced the discovery of the final victim's body. The incident occurred in the Chaeo Bau hamlet of Gia Phu village, Son La province. Three children were swept away by the floodwaters and had been missing. Local authorities immediately launched search and rescue operations, which were hampered by adverse weather conditions and difficult terrain. The search operations concluded with the recovery of the last body. Local government officials reported that the procedures for handing over the remains to the victims' families for funeral rites according to local customs have been completed. The authorities also visited and offered condolences and encouragement to the affected families, pledging their support. Vietnam frequently experiences floods and landslides, particularly during the rainy season, leading to recurrent life-threatening accidents.
