Thailand Projects Over 900,000 Flights in FY2026, New Route to Boost Efficiency

The Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (ATMB) has announced its projection that the number of flights within Thailand will reach approximately 900,000 in fiscal year 2026 (October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026), marking a 1.6% increase compared to the previous fiscal year. This projected growth is attributed not only to the recovery of air travel demand but also to the launch of a new air route connecting Thailand and China on September 3rd. This new route is expected to significantly reduce flight times and fuel consumption compared to existing routes, thereby contributing to improved cost efficiency for airlines. The ATMB views this increase in flight volume and enhanced efficiency as a catalyst for the overall development of Thailand's aviation industry.
