Dozens of Indonesian Organizations Reject Health Law PP 28/2024

Dozens of organizations in Indonesia have expressed their opposition to the newly implemented Government Regulation PP 28/2024 concerning health. While the regulation is understood to aim at promoting public health and improving the healthcare system, concerns are being raised by civil society regarding its specific content and impact. At present, further information is awaited regarding the specific names of the organizations opposing the regulation and the detailed reasons behind their stance. However, this development suggests that achieving sufficient consensus among diverse stakeholders is crucial for the implementation of public health policies in Indonesia. Given Indonesia's vast territory and diverse ethnic and cultural population, central government policies do not always align with local realities.
