Cambodia Sees 80% Surge in Health Service Utilization, PM Highlights 24-Hour Access Expansion

His Excellency Dr. Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, stated that the utilization of health services at health centers and district referral hospitals has increased by approximately 80% to date. The Prime Minister made these remarks during the official inauguration ceremony of 'Luang Mae Hospital' in Phreay Sar village, Prek Samraong commune, Dangkor district, Phnom Penh, on the morning of September 16, 2026. During the event, Prime Minister Hun Manet outlined the direction for providing 24-hour healthcare services at the local level, aiming to serve citizens with professionalism and meet their needs. He affirmed, "I have checked the situation at the local level and am very pleased. The number of people using health centers and district referral hospitals has increased by 80% due to the availability of doctors, 24-hour operation, improved service quality, and increased medicines and supplies." Prime Minister Hun Manet added that over 99% of health centers nationwide are now operating 24 hours a day, indicating a positive development in Cambodia's health sector. He further noted that through inquiries, nearly all citizens have raised their hands in support of using public health services, expressing particular satisfaction with the 24-hour accessibility of health centers and district referral hospitals.
