Cambodian Police Official's Wife Visits and Supports Officers Recovering from Illness
In Kampong Thom, Cambodia, the wife of the provincial police chief visited police officers recovering from illness and their families, donating supplies and funds. She expressed support for families facing hardship and wished for the officers' speedy recovery and return to duty.
Kampong Thom, Cambodia, July 5, 2026 -- Mrs. Lim Ieng Cheng, wife of Major General Heng Sophal, Police Commissioner of Kampong Thom Province, accompanied by Brigadier General Kong Koy, Deputy Commissioner for Anti-Human Trafficking and Gender, visited on the afternoon of July 4, 2026, national police officers who are currently resting and receiving medical treatment at their homes in Stueng Sen City, Kampong Thom Province. To begin, Mrs. Lim Ieng Cheng conveyed the regards and well wishes of Major General Heng Sophal, Police Commissioner of Kampong Thom Province, to the officers recovering from illness (2 families) and those who have recently returned home after medical leave (3 families). Mrs. Lim expressed solidarity with the difficulties currently faced by the families of the officers. She advised the patients to take care of their health by maintaining hygiene, eating clean food, taking medication regularly as prescribed by doctors, getting enough rest, and undergoing regular health check-ups. She encouraged them to exercise to strengthen their physical condition, hoping for a speedy recovery so they can continue to contribute to their duties as national police officers and protect social security, order, and safety. On this occasion, Mrs. Lim handed over financial contributions and some supplies, donated by Major General Heng Sophal, Police Commissioner of the province, and conveyed a message that if they have any concerns or face any issues, they should contact the leadership for timely intervention and assistance. Mr. Hul Saran, representing the five officers, expressed his deepest gratitude to Major General Heng Sophal, the Police Commissioner, Mrs. Lim, and the accompanying delegation for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit, offer support, and provide donations to the officers and their families.
