Cambodia Arrests Suspect in Murder Case - Two Youths Allegedly Involved

Cambodian police in Mondulkiri province arrested a murder suspect on September 22, in connection with an incident that occurred in Kampong Chhnang province. The arrested individual has been identified as Rann Sophi, a 19-year-old male. He is accused of being one of the perpetrators in a murder case that took place in the early hours of September 6 in Sre Thmey village, Samaki Mean Chey district, Kampong Chhnang province. The victim, identified as Muny Promdanuth, a 17-year-old Cambodian, was found dead at the scene. The arrest was executed based on arrest warrants issued by Saeng Lina, an investigating judge at the Kampong Chhnang Provincial Court, specifically warrants number 359/26 and 361/26. The operation was led by Colonel Hun Monnyrath, Deputy Director of the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the criminal police force of Mondulkiri Provincial Police. Reports indicate that Rann Sophi is one of six individuals allegedly involved in the crime.
