Due to AA offensive, military begins to prepare defenses up to Pathein city, the base of Nawnghkam

It has been learned that the military regime forces, despite deploying a large number of troops in the restive Kyauk Gyi and Thabaung townships in Ayeyarwaddy Region, are now preparing defenses up to Pathein city, the headquarters of the South-West Military Command (Nawnghkam), after continuously losing key bases and outposts to the Arakan Army (AA). Military sources have confirmed that the military has begun to establish and deploy a defensive camp at Kwanchaygone, located on the west bank of the Ngawan (Pathein) River, approximately 3 miles (4 kilometers) south of Thabaung city. "Currently, troops are stationed in the rural housing areas between Kwanchaygone and Okponkone. The numbers of the involved divisions/regiments and the troop strength are still being verified," said CDM Major Zin Yaw. It is understood that this defensive camp is intended to preemptively block the routes of the revolutionary forces that may infiltrate through Shwethangyan Beach. Currently, the military regime forces have consecutively lost no less than 5 footholds at the border of Letmehnar and Gwa townships. Following the fall of these camps, despite conducting intense aerial attacks, the military's ground convoys are unable to advance and are stuck, according to local news sources. Furthermore, as the military regime forces have been unable to secure footholds for ground offensives into Southern Rakhine, they are continuously intensifying aerial bombing attacks. The military situation is so dire that the original plan to completely blockade Southern Rakhine has had to be withdrawn and shifted to aerial attacks due to the heavy casualties sustained by the military's ground troops.
