Ho Chi Minh City Allocates 128 Resettlement Sites for Metro and Ring Road Projects

Ho Chi Minh City has announced the allocation of 128 resettlement plots, houses, and apartments for land acquisition related to the Ben Thanh-Can Gio metro line and Ring Road No. 4 projects. According to the decision, the Ben Thanh-Can Gio metro line project will receive 88 resettlement units, comprising 63 land plots and 25 apartments. These units will be prioritized for households whose land is acquired in the wards and communes of Ben Thanh, Xom Chieu, Tan Thuan, Binh Khanh, An Thoi Dong, and Can Gio. Specifically, the 25 apartments are from the public housing fund managed by the Center for Housing Management and Construction Quality. The Department of Construction will announce the specific locations of these apartments for relevant districts to create lists and allocate them to eligible households. For the Ring Road No. 4 project, an additional 40 resettlement land plots will be distributed in the Nha Be - Hiep Phuoc area. The People's Committee of Hiep Phuoc Commune is tasked with managing this land fund and reviewing the list of eligible households. This marks the first time Ho Chi Minh City is providing resettlement housing for residents affected by land acquisition for the Ben Thanh-Can Gio metro line, and it is the second allocation for the Ring Road No. 4 project. Previously, in April, the city had allocated 284 resettlement plots for Ring Road No. 4 in the Tan Thanh, Chau Pha, and Chau Duc resettlement areas. The allocation and supplementation of resettlement funds are crucial steps in preparing the land for the implementation of these two major infrastructure projects. The Ring Road No. 4 project in Ho Chi Minh City is approximately 207 km long, connecting the city with Dong Nai and Tay Ninh provinces. Phase 1 has a total investment of about VND 120.4 trillion (approximately USD 5 billion), with a planned 4-lane expressway. The Ben Thanh - Can Gio metro line is about 53.8 km long, connecting the city center with the coastal district.
