Cambodia Continues to Feel Impact of Typhoon Noul Until July 29

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology announced that Cambodia will continue to be affected by Typhoon Noul (T2612), the 12th typhoon of the season, until July 29. The ministry stated that although the kingdom is not directly in the path of Typhoon Noul, its influence on the southwest monsoon will cause rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds across most regions. For the plains, from July 27 to July 29, the average minimum temperature is forecast to be 24°C, and the average maximum temperature will be 36°C. Winds will blow from the southwest at an average speed of 3 meters per second. Provinces including Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Poipet, Kampong Chhnang, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Tboung Khmum, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Takeo, and the capital Phnom Penh may experience rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds covering 30% of their land. In the highlands, the average minimum temperature will be 23°C, and the average maximum temperature will be 35°C. Winds will blow from the southwest and west at an average speed of 4 meters per second. Provinces such as Kampong Speu, Pailin, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, and the Dangrek and Cardamom mountain ranges could see rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds covering 40% of their areas. For the coastal areas, the average minimum temperature is forecast to be 25°C, and the average maximum temperature will be 35°C. Winds will blow from the southwest and southeast at an average speed of 2 meters per second. Provinces including Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep, and the Bokor mountain area may experience rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds covering 60% of their land. Sea waves are expected to have an average height of 0.50 meters, with a maximum of 1.75 meters.
