Kampong Cham Polytechnic Institute in Kampong Cham province is the sole public institution for technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in the province. It focuses on training skills that are in demand by the job market, integrating theoretical learning with practical application to ensure students possess genuine capabilities and have clearer employment opportunities. Mr. Hav Thin, Director of Kampong Cham Polytechnic Institute, stated that the institute's unique strength lies in its focus on "skills for employment." Students not only learn theory but also gain hands-on experience with technical equipment and facilities, along with guidance from instructors and experts, to enhance their skills and confidence before entering the workforce. "We focus on skills for employment, ensuring students have real capabilities that align with the needs of the labor market and society," the director said. He added that the institute actively collaborates with companies, enterprises, and relevant partners to provide students with opportunities for internships, apprenticeships, and practical work experience, thereby increasing their chances of employment after graduation. Concurrently, the institute has a provincial training committee chaired by the provincial governor and an advisory council led by the provincial Chamber of Commerce president. These bodies contribute to supporting and bridging vocational training with labor market demands. To assist students, the institute offers free accommodation, water, and electricity. Mr. Hav Thin emphasized that the training aims not only to help students find employment but also to equip them with the skills to start their own businesses and become entrepreneurs.
