Takeo Provincial Police Convene Meeting to Strengthen Community Policing and Security Efforts
Takeo Provincial Police held a meeting to review July's performance and plan for August, emphasizing enhanced community engagement to prevent crime and maintain security. Directives included increased public forums and 24-hour intervention units.
In Takeo Province, southern Cambodia, the Provincial Police convened a meeting on August 4th to review the security efforts of July and strategize for August. The meeting was presided over by Major General Men Ly, the Provincial Police Commissioner, and attended by Deputy Commissioners, heads of 33 departments, city and district police chiefs, commanders of the 603rd Land Border Defense Unit, border post chiefs, bilateral gateway police chiefs, and chiefs of police from all 100 communes and sangkats within the province. During the meeting, Major General Men Ly instructed city and district police chiefs and commune/sangkat police chiefs to conduct more public forums with all segments of the population to enhance understanding and cooperation in preventing and suppressing all types of crimes. He also urged them to organize intervention police forces to be on standby 24 hours a day to prevent and deter any criminal activities. Furthermore, the Provincial Police Commissioner advised all police officers to strictly adhere to the National Police's disciplinary orders and regulations (Order No. 873 P.K.) and to ensure accurate human resource management. He reiterated the importance of disseminating the government's "Safe Village-Commune-Sangkat" policy through public forums to raise awareness and encourage public participation in preventing and suppressing all forms of crime, in line with the 7th mandate government's strategic plan.
