Northern Vietnam Braces for Thunderstorms on June 29; Central Region Continues to Swelter

Vietnam's National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting has issued its weather outlook for June 29. The northern region (Bắc Bộ) is expected to experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Some areas may see extremely heavy downpours, with precipitation concentrated in the late afternoon, evening, and early morning. In contrast, the central region (Trung Bộ) will continue to enjoy sunny conditions during the day, with intense heat expected to persist, and some localities facing severe heat. Previous weather reports from the same month indicate a varied pattern: on June 25, the north endured intense heat while the south (Nam Bộ) received rainfall. On June 17, many parts of the north saw showers, and the central region experienced sunny and hot weather. On June 15, the north was hot, with scattered rain and thunderstorms in the late afternoon. On June 13, both the north and central regions had hot days, followed by rain and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. On June 11, widespread rain and thunderstorms were observed across many parts of the country. Seasonal weather variations in Vietnam significantly impact agricultural production and infrastructure development. Thunderstorms, in particular, can cause temporary disruptions to transportation networks and power supply, while intense heat highlights the importance of heatstroke prevention and water resource management. The Communist Party of Vietnam considers adaptation to climate change a key pillar of its economic development strategy, emphasizing the strengthening of disaster preparedness.
