Two Bodies Recovered After Ship Sinks Off An Giang Coast

Two bodies have been recovered following a ship sinking incident off the coast of An Giang province. On the afternoon of September 12, the Nam Du Border Guard Station and the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command reported that upon receiving news of a ship sinking at sea, the Nam Du Border Guard Station dispatched a working group using the unit's canoe to the incident site at 9:30 AM this morning. After a period of searching, the bodies of the two victims were found approximately 7.7 nautical miles east of Hon Dau, Kien Hai Special Zone, An Giang province. The unit coordinated with functional forces to complete the initial procedures and proceeded to hand over the bodies of the two victims to the Kien Hai Special Zone Police for processing under their authority. This incident underscores the critical importance of maritime safety measures in Vietnam. With its extensive coastline, Vietnam relies heavily on fishing and maritime transport for its economy. However, risks associated with adverse weather conditions and aging vessels are ever-present.
