Tuyen Quang Province to Re-examine 328 Students After High School Graduation Exam Scandal

Tuyen Quang Province in northern Vietnam has decided to re-examine all 328 students who took the high school graduation exam at Tuyen Quang Specialized High School, following a large-scale cheating scandal. According to Plan No. 305/KH-UBND issued by the Provincial People's Committee, these students will undergo re-examinations for the 2026 high school graduation exams. The decision comes after all results from the affected testing site were nullified due to the discovered irregularities. The Ministry of Education and Training has announced the schedule for the re-examinations at the Tuyen Quang Specialized High School testing site, with all subjects slated for August 14 and 15. To date, 29 individuals have been prosecuted for their involvement in the cheating, and investigations are ongoing and expected to expand. This incident has highlighted serious concerns about the fairness and integrity of education in Vietnam. For the Vietnamese government, which prioritizes educational quality within its one-party system, such fraudulent activities pose a threat to social stability and the development of future generations, necessitating a strict response.
