In Takeo province, officials participated in inspecting and conducting preliminary tests on 14 bags of frozen fish cakes (434 kg) and 5 boxes of crab meat cakes (50 kg) that had been seized by the Customs and Excise Department at the Phnom Den International Border Gate. The inspection, which also involved the Takeo Provincial Department of Commerce, local authorities, and relevant officials, found that these products were transported without meeting technical specifications, lacked proper hygiene (indicating poor quality), and were not accompanied by valid documentation. Following agreement among the joint authorities, the goods were confiscated and destroyed according to established procedures. Meanwhile, in Kandal province on the same day, officials in collaboration with the Economic Crime Suppression Office of the Kandal Provincial Police Commissioner and relevant authorities, under the procedural coordination and approval of the Prosecutor's Office of the Provincial Court, incinerated a total of 16,240 kg of frozen meat and fish cake products. These items were discovered in storage and distribution warehouses within the province and were destroyed at the landfill in Dangkao district. The General Directorate of Consumer Protection, Competition, and Fraud Repression of the Ministry of Commerce will continue to fulfill its role in protecting consumer rights and interests, as well as ensuring fair competition in the market.
