BDx Breaks Ground on 640MW AI Data Center in West Java, Indonesia

JAKARTA - BDx Data Centers started the construction (groundbreaking) of AI Campus 2 (CGK4), an AI data center area with a capacity of 640 MW on Tuesday, September 22 in Jatiluhur, West Java, Indonesia. This area is supported by a network power capacity of 845 MVA from the state electricity company PLN, which is part of the BDx power supply position that has been secured by more than 1.2 GVA across its AI-ready regions in Indonesia. CGK4 will be an AI-first digital infrastructure, by providing secured power supply, high-density capacity, and faster time-to-market for AI workloads in the Asia-Pacific region. Located about five kilometers from the Jatiluhur Dam, this area will receive electricity supply through PLN within the framework of Indonesia's national electricity grid. In addition, BDx is also actively exploring low-carbon energy pathways, including a joint hydropower scheme with PJT, to support the growth of AI infrastructure in the region with cleaner and more sustainable energy. CGK4 is expected to be built within a period of about three years, with buildings operated gradually according to demand. Construction has begun on Building 1, the first of six planned buildings. Building 1 will provide IT capacity of 120 MW in stages, with the first phase that has been contracted expected to start operating in early 2027. This facility is built with a direct-to-chip liquid cooling architecture that is designed to support up to 500 kW per rack for current and future generations of AI accelerators. "Indonesia is entering a new phase of digital and AI development, and CGK4 is a long-term investment in the infrastructure needed in that phase," said Chief Executive Officer, BDx Data Centers, Mayank Srivastava. CGK4 is part of BDx's expansion focused on AI in Indonesia, supported by a loan facility of US$320 million obtained in 2026.
