GCash Simplifies Arthaland Share Offering for Wider Filipino Investor Access
GCash, the Philippines' leading mobile wallet, has partnered with AB Capital Securities Inc. to offer easier access to Arthaland Corporation's Series G and H preferred shares through its GStocks PH platform. This initiative aims to democratize stock investing, making it more accessible for a broader segment of the Filipino population.
MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos can now easily participate in Arthaland Corporation’s (ALCO) upcoming Series G and H preferred share offering, a move that significantly lowers the barrier to entry for stock market investments. Through GCash, the country's leading mobile wallet, and its integrated GStocks PH platform, powered by broker AB Capital Securities Inc., retail investors can directly invest in the sustainable property developer. The preferred shares are priced at P500 each. Series G (ALCPG) offers an annual dividend rate of 7.3260%, while Series H (ALCPH) offers 7.8105% per annum, subject to the terms and conditions of the issue. The offer period runs from September 14 to September 25. Preferred shares typically pay fixed dividends and give holders priority over common shareholders in receiving dividends. Traditionally, participating in stock issuances, including follow-on offerings, required retail investors to have a separate bank account and coordinate with a physical broker. GStocks PH's fully-digital IPO/FOO subscription feature streamlines this process, offering a more seamless and transparent investment experience. Investors can monitor the availability of broker-allotted shares and confirm their allocations in real-time, rather than waiting until the offer period closes. Should the broker’s initial tranche be fully taken up and the offering become oversubscribed on GStocks PH, retail investors can still place orders and receive their allocation results after the offer period. "Financial inclusion is not only about more financial services. It is about creating a simpler, more rewarding experience that keeps Filipinos’ needs in mind. By digitizing financial services and making investing more convenient, we make it easier for Filipinos to participate and take greater control of their financial journeys," emphasized Winsley Bangit, group head of new businesses at Mynt. Fully-verified GCash users can access GStocks PH by opening the GCash app, navigating to 'Invest,' and selecting GStocks PH. The platform offers instant onboarding for new users and does not require a bank account. Fund transfers to and from the GCash wallet are also free. This expansion of digital access to securities offerings by GStocks PH aims to broaden participation in capital markets and provide Filipinos with more convenient avenues to earn and grow their hard-earned money.
