Durian Lot in Dak Lak Fetches Over 23.8 Billion VND in First Auction

Dak Lak province in Vietnam's Central Highlands has hosted its first-ever auction for durian, drawing significant attention. Nguyen Thuan Agricultural Import-Export Co., Ltd. outbid nine other companies, securing the lot at 68,000 VND per kilogram, totaling 23.8 billion VND (approximately $1 million USD). The auction is part of Dak Lak's efforts to develop its durian sector, with a particular focus on expanding exports to the Chinese market. The province also plans to launch a provincial-level durian festival starting in 2026, aiming to enhance its brand and attract tourists.
