One Kamikaze Drone from Myanmar Lands and Explodes Inside Thailand, Thai Army Blocks Off Area for Investigation and Increases Border Security

Yangon, July 4 A kamikaze drone from Myanmar landed and exploded in a cornfield in Phop Phra district, Tak province, along the Thailand-Myanmar border. The Thai army has cordoned off the area for investigation and increased border security, according to Thai sources. On the morning of July 4, a kamikaze attack drone flew in from Myanmar and exploded. Thai authorities immediately cordoned off the incident site for investigation and are enhancing border security. Information received indicates that around 7 AM on July 4, a self-detonating attack drone from Myanmar landed in a cornfield in Village No. 2, Southern Wale village group, Wale village, Phop Phra district. Local authorities visited and investigated the scene. The incident site is only about 200 meters from the Thailand-Myanmar border line. Initial investigations confirmed that the explosive device installed on the drone had already detonated, and authorities confirmed there were no human casualties or fatalities. When the drone arrived, under the direction of the Thai army, administrative bodies, the Thai army, police, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, and relevant departments jointly cordoned off the incident site and conducted detailed investigations. Furthermore, residents in the border area have been alerted to immediately report any suspicious items or military equipment to the relevant authorities without handling them. "The incident site is being cordoned off and investigated, and the relevant security forces are continuing their operations in accordance with procedures. Patrol forces along the border have also been increased, and special attention is being paid to the security of local residents," stated Tak provincial authorities. Currently, the Thai army has increased security patrols along the border and is continuing to investigate the origin of the drone and the reasons for its arrival.
