Hanoi's O Dien Commune Launches Free Health Screenings for Residents
Hanoi's O Dien commune has launched a free periodic health screening program for residents starting July 1st, aiming to improve public health as per the city's directive. Eligible residents, verified via VNeID, will receive comprehensive check-ups and health advice. O Dien is among the first 16 communes along the Red River to implement this initiative.
In Hanoi's O Dien commune, a free periodic health screening program for residents officially commenced on July 1st. This initiative is in line with the Hanoi People's Committee's policy on protecting and improving public health. According to Hanoi's plan, all residents who have resided permanently or temporarily for 12 months or more, with verification through VNeID (Vietnam's electronic identification application), will receive free periodic health check-ups and disease screenings. O Dien commune is among the 16 communes and wards along the Red River prioritized for this initial phase. On the first day of implementation, the screening process was scientifically organized to ensure residents received comprehensive guidance from registration to consultation. At the screening site, individuals underwent general health assessments, received advice on nutrition and health care, and were screened for early detection of risk factors for diseases, enabling timely monitoring and treatment. For children, doctors conducted general examinations to evaluate physical development and provided parents with advice on appropriate nutrition and health care. Ms. Bui Thi Thu Hang, Vice Chairwoman of the O Dien Commune People's Committee, personally inspected the reception, examination, and consultation process. She also visited families bringing children for check-ups and encouraged the medical staff to uphold their sense of responsibility, maintain professional quality, and provide dedicated service to facilitate residents' access to healthcare. The implementation of the nationwide health screening program in O Dien commune is a practical activity contributing to the improvement of primary healthcare quality at the grassroots level. Through regular check-ups, residents can detect illnesses early, enhance their disease prevention awareness, and establish a foundation for the healthcare sector to manage and monitor long-term health, aiming for comprehensive health care for all citizens.
