Cambodia is expected to continue to be affected by a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea, and South China Sea, bringing rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across the country until September 18. Some areas have a 40% to 60% chance of precipitation. According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, this low-pressure system is influencing the southwest monsoon, affecting the Mekong River basin, the Cambodian sea, and the Kingdom of Cambodia as a whole. From September 16 to 18, the plains are expected to experience temperatures ranging from a minimum of 25°C to a maximum of 33°C, with winds from the southwest or northwest at an average speed of 3 meters per second. Provinces such as Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Poipet, Kampong Cham, and Phnom Penh are likely to see rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds covering 40% of the land area. The plateau regions are forecast to have minimum temperatures of 24°C and maximum temperatures of 31°C, with winds from the southwest or west at an average speed of 5 meters per second. Provinces like Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kratie, and mountainous areas are expected to have a 60% chance of rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. Coastal areas are predicted to have minimum temperatures of 25°C and maximum temperatures of 34°C, with winds from the southwest or southeast at an average speed of 3 meters per second. Coastal provinces such as Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Kampot, and Kep are expected to experience rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds covering 50% of the land area, with sea waves ranging from an average minimum of 0.50 meters to a maximum of 1.70 meters.
