Vietnamese President Meets Canadian Governor General, Discusses Strengthening Ties

Vietnamese President To Lam, who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party, held a meeting with Governor General Louise Arbour at the Governor General's official residence on the morning of September 24 (local time) as part of his state visit to Canada. Both leaders agreed to further strengthen the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Canada. During the talks, they discussed the development of bilateral relations, particularly the potential for expanding cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investment, education, science and technology, and climate change response. Opinions were also exchanged on cooperation to contribute to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the international community.
