President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to a "free and active" foreign policy, fostering friendly relations and cooperation with nations worldwide. The President noted that he frequently receives invitations from various countries, including Russia, explaining this is due to Indonesia's non-alignment with any specific bloc. He stated that when invited, especially by countries playing a strategic role in the international arena, he endeavors to attend. Prabowo also elaborated on the significance of maintaining communication with Russia. He pointed out Russia's strategic position in international relations, being a permanent member of the UN Security Council, possessing the world's largest territory, and abundant natural resources. The President described accepting invitations from Russia as "quite normal," considering the traditional good relations between the two nations. The President emphasized that the same principle applies when Indonesia receives invitations from the United States or other countries. He views honoring invitations from friendly nations as part of diplomacy to maintain good communication and relations. Prabowo further explained that Indonesia's traditional stance in international relations is rooted in the principle of non-alignment. Indonesia has always sought to be "free and active," avoiding alignment with any bloc and aiming to be friends with everyone.
