MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte is currently in The Hague, Netherlands, as her impeachment trial enters its eighth day, her defense team said Tuesday. Defense spokesperson Atty. Michael Poa shared Duterte’s current whereabouts during a press conference before Tuesday’s trial proper. “Sa ngayon, ang pagkakaalam ko, she is in the Hague (As far as I know, she is in The Hague),” said Poa. “But she’ll be back soon,” he added. INQUIRER has already asked the Office of the Vice President about the nature of Duterte’s trip, but has yet to receive a response as of posting time. The vice president’s father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, is currently in the custody of the International Criminal Court as he is set to face trial on crimes against humanity on Nov. 30.
