Phnom Penh Public Works Department Repairs Roads in Chbar Ampov District Amidst Rainy Season Damage

In Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, the Department of Public Works and Transport has responded to the worsening road conditions in the Chbar Ampov district, which have been exacerbated by the rainy season. According to Yi Thirat, Deputy Director of Administration for the Chbar Ampov district, several roads within the district have suffered damage due to the rain, with potholes described as "chicken nests" appearing. In response to a request from the district authorities, specialized units from the Phnom Penh Department of Public Works and Transport have been dispatched to the site to commence road repair work. Yi Thirat explained that the frequent rainfall this month has accelerated the deterioration of the roads. The district administration is proceeding with repairs for roads under its jurisdiction by dispatching its specialized teams. Meanwhile, the repair of national roads and other major thoroughfares remains the responsibility of the city's Department of Public Works and Transport. The district authorities have stated their commitment to continue working towards improving road conditions, contributing to the safe mobility of citizens and the prevention of traffic accidents. Residents in the area have expressed their satisfaction with the ongoing road repair efforts.
