President Prabowo: TNI and Polri are 'Children of the People,' Must Always Be With Them

President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized that the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) are an inseparable part of the people and should always be with them, referring to them as "children of the people." Citing their active involvement in supporting food security, the President highlighted that these two institutions are not merely tasked with national defense and security. Speaking at the TNI's harvest festival at Lanud Abdulrachman Saleh in Malang Regency, East Java, Prabowo stated, "This shows that the TNI and Polri are not just guardians of national defense and security. But, the TNI and Polri are an inseparable part of the Indonesian people." Specifically, the Polri successfully held a corn harvest festival in May 2026, while the TNI also conducted harvest festivals for rice, sugarcane, and soybeans. The President asserted that both institutions are "children of the people" and must always be present among them. Prabowo urged all components of the nation to unite and cooperate, working hand-in-hand to assist citizens facing difficulties. "The difficulties of the people are the difficulties of the TNI and Polri. As long as there are people living in hardship, it is the obligation of all components to unite, to work together, and to take significant, concrete steps to overcome these difficulties," he explained. Furthermore, the President stated that Indonesia's defense strength stems from a strong and prosperous populace. "The best defense is a strong and prosperous people. The entire nation will defend this country. That is why, from now on, the TNI and Polri are among the people," he concluded.
