Vietnamese Military Provides Medical Aid and Gifts to Cambodian Border Residents

A delegation from the Dong Thap Provincial Military Command in southern Vietnam visited Prey Veng and Pursat provinces in Cambodia on September 19th to provide medical assistance to local residents. Led by Colonel Cao Văn Thảo, Deputy Political Commissar, the delegation included medical professionals from the Dong Thap Provincial Military-Civilian Hospital. They conducted free health check-ups, distributed medicines, and presented gifts to the local population. This medical aid initiative symbolizes the long-standing friendly relations and "solidarity in the border areas" between Vietnam and Cambodia. Vietnam has been actively engaged in various forms of cooperation with Cambodia, including military exchanges and humanitarian aid. Notably, the Vietnamese military is also continuously involved in the search for remains of war martyrs in Cambodia (Team K91), reflecting the historical ties between the two nations. Past similar initiatives include medical aid for Cambodian residents in Ratanakiri province and a medical program in Luang Prabang, Laos, indicating the expanding scope of regional cooperation. Under Vietnam's one-party system, solidarity with socialist brother countries and regional cooperation are key pillars of its foreign policy. Such humanitarian activities also contribute to enhancing Vietnam's image on the international stage. As Vietnam continues its economic growth, it aims to promote regional stability and development by maintaining good relations with its neighboring countries.
