Inspection Tour: Regional development works in Shan State

Shan State Chief Minister U Sai Htein Soe, along with the Commander of Northeast Command and officials, on August 6th, attended a ceremony on provision of fertilizer and spraying equipment for monsoon paddy seed production and model plots, implemented by the State Government's Capital Fund, in Mongyai Township. The Chief Minister and officials provided fertilizer and spraying equipment to the farmers, viewed the demonstration of fertilizer application at the 10 acrea monsoon paddy plot, display of rice seeds and agricultural machines and cordially met with the farmers. The Chief Minister and officials also inspected the construction of retaining wall and drainage as well as the Lashio (Maehan)- Mongyai-Kaythi -road and gave instructions on the reports by the officials. At the Mongyai Basic Education High School, the Chief Minister and party oversaw the issuance of National Registration Cards and UID to the students of aged 10-year and above and presented NRC cards and UID numbers to the students. He also visited Mongyai People’s Hospital, comforted the patients and provided nutritious food to them. At the local tea leaf field, the Chief Minister and party toured around the tea leaf cultivation and tea drying mill and coordinated the needs. The Chief Minister and party also met with the Hluttaw representatives, departmental officials, townelders, ethnic literature and culture members and locals at the city hall in Tangyan Township. The Chief Minister heard reports by the officials on regional development processes and gave concluding speech.
