Lam Dong Vice Chairman Appointed Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development

Mr. Le Trong Yen, 53, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development by the Prime Minister, effective September 4. Yen, originally from Hung Yen province, holds a PhD in Land Management, a Master's degree in Agriculture, a Bachelor's degree in Land Management, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and a Bachelor's degree in English. Having risen through the ranks from a cadre in Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province (formerly), Mr. Yen has spent many years dedicated to the fields of natural resources and environment, and agriculture and rural development at the local level. He previously served as Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment in Dak Nong province. He was appointed Vice Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee in November 2020. Following the merger of Lam Dong, Dak Nong, and Binh Thuan provinces in July 2025, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the newly formed Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and has held this position until now. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is a governmental body responsible for state management in areas including: agriculture; forestry; salt production; fisheries; irrigation; disaster prevention and control; rural development; land; water resources; mineral resources and geology; environment; meteorology and hydrology; climate change; surveying and mapping; integrated management of natural resources and environmental protection of seas and islands; and remote sensing. The current Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development is Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, assisted by seven Deputy Ministers: Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Mr. Le Cong Thanh, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri, Mr. Vo Van Hung, Mr. Dang Ngoc Diep, Mr. Le Trong Yen, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa.
