Two Arrested in Patong's Bangla Road with 600,000 Baht Worth of Shisha and Contraband

Phuket authorities are intensifying efforts to regulate entertainment venues across the province, applying uniform enforcement standards in all areas, including popular nightlife hubs like Patong and Bangla Road. This initiative aims to strike a balance between strict law enforcement and preserving the island's tourism appeal. At approximately 11:30 p.m. on September 7, police officers from the Patong Police Station, under the direction of the Deputy Governor of Phuket, conducted a search of an entertainment venue located on Bangla Road. During the operation, a significant quantity of shisha supplies and other contraband items were discovered and seized. The total value of the seized items is estimated to be around 600,000 baht. Two individuals, believed to be associated with the venue, were arrested in connection with the operation. Authorities are investigating the possibility that these items were being sold to tourists. The Phuket provincial government has stated its commitment to continuing crackdowns to ensure tourist safety and eradicate illegal activities.
