A new mother-and-child room and emergency ward have been opened at Pattaya Special Prison as part of the "Warm Love from the Heart" project, aiming to enhance medical services and improve prison conditions for inmates.
PATTAYA, Chonburi – On August 5th, 2026, Chada Thaiseth, Member of Parliament for Uthai Thani and former Deputy Minister of the Interior, led a handover ceremony and the official opening of a new mother-and-child room and emergency ward at the medical facility of Pattaya Special Prison in the Nong Plalai Subdistrict of Bang Lamung District. The project, named "Warm Love from the Heart," aims to enhance the quality of medical services and living conditions for inmates within the prison. The newly established mother-and-child room will provide specialized care and a private space for pregnant or postpartum female inmates and their children. Additionally, an emergency ward has been set up to bolster emergency medical response capabilities. MP Thaiseth emphasized that inmates, like all individuals, have the right to access appropriate medical care. She expressed hope that the expansion of these facilities will significantly contribute to the improvement of the health and well-being of the incarcerated population. This initiative is seen as a step towards strengthening humanitarian medical provisions within Thailand's correctional system. Source: Pattaya News
