Two earthquakes, with magnitudes 5.7 and 5.8, struck off the waters of Sarangani in Davao Occidental. These are believed to be aftershocks of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake on June 8. No casualties or infrastructure damage have been reported so far.
Two earthquakes struck off the waters of Sarangani in Davao Occidental on Wednesday evening, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). In its separate earthquake bulletins, Phivolcs said that the earthquakes were aftershocks of the magnitude 7.8 offshore earthquake in Sarangani on June 8 and the magnitude 6.5 offshore earthquake. No casualties or infrastructure damage have been reported so far as a result of these tremors. The Philippines lies in the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area known for its seismic activity, and Phivolcs continues to monitor the situation.
