Cambodia Promotes Digital Education with Computer Donations and Training in Provincial Areas

On the morning of September 9, 2026, in Svay Rieng province, the delegation of the 10th Committee of the Senate and the Digital Intelligence Institute of Cambodia held a meeting with provincial administration officials and a computer handover ceremony, with the computers being a donation from the institute. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mam Bunneang, Chairman of the 10th Committee of the Senate, H.E. Peng Porsath, Governor of Svay Rieng Province, and H.E. Bun Savann, Provincial Council Member, representing H.E. Men Vibol, Chairman of the Provincial Council. Also present were H.E. and Her Excellencies from the Senate delegation, the Deputy Governor, the Deputy Director of the Provincial Hall Administration, the Deputy Commanders of the three forces, H.E. and Madam Directors of provincial departments and units, the Governors of the eight districts and cities, the chiefs of the eighty communes and Sangkats, the Director of the Provincial Inter-Departmental Affairs Office, and the Director of the Provincial Hall Financial Affairs Office. H.E. Mam Bunneang stated that in the past, the 10th Committee of the Senate and the Digital Intelligence Institute of Cambodia have signed memorandums of understanding to jointly train and provide knowledge, technical skills, and vocational training to children, youth, and citizens, as well as commune and Sangkat councils. Training is accessible anywhere and anytime through a virtual system, in line with the major direction of the "Commune-Sangkat Development Policy." He also urged commune and Sangkat councils to continue disseminating information about scholarships and enrollment at the Digital Intelligence Institute of Cambodia, especially for underprivileged youth and those in remote areas, to receive quality, international standard education with ease. His Excellency added that the foundation of a prosperous and rapidly developing nation lies in the abundance and quality of human resources, which are the pillars supporting the nation's future and development in all sectors. It is reported that the Senate's Commission of Inquiry, Cleanliness, and Anti-Corruption aims to understand the effectiveness and challenges of implementing the Anti-Corruption Law with the provincial, district, city, and commune/Sangkat administrations of Svay Rieng province. On this occasion, the 10th Committee, along with the Digital Intelligence Institute of Cambodia, brought laptops to distribute 35 units to the leaders of provincial departments and units, 8 units to the governors of the eight districts and cities, and 80 units to the chiefs of commune and Sangkat councils.
