Cambodian Red Cross Visits AIDS Activist
Secretary-General of the Cambodian Red Cross, Pum Chantini, visited San Sokhat, an AIDS activist from Poipet, at the hospital. Ms. Sokhat has been dedicated to supporting people living with HIV since 2004.
Phnom Penh, September 7, 2026 -- Ms. Pum Chantini, Secretary-General of the Cambodian Red Cross and Deputy Head of the National Elite Working Group, visited and offered encouragement to Ms. San Sokhat, an AIDS activist in Poipet province, on the afternoon of September 7, 2026. Ms. Sokhat is currently receiving treatment at the Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital (Preah Kossamak Hospital). Ms. San Sokhat is a dedicated AIDS activist who has devoted her physical and mental strength to humanitarian work, assisting AIDS patients in the community since 2004. Notably, she has provided counseling and facilitation for people living with HIV in Roka Commune, Sangke District, Battambang Province, and continues to be active in Poipet Province. This visit signifies the attention and warm support from the National Elite Working Group towards AIDS activists. Ms. Sokhat is wished a speedy recovery, good health, and a prompt return to her family and community.
