Phu Quoc International Hospital has signed cooperation agreements with Cho Ray Hospital and Military Hospital 175 to build a specialized professional network, aiming to enhance diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases, emergency transport, and human resource development. The signing ceremony took place in Phu Quoc on July 25. Under the agreements, each hospital will undertake specific professional tasks to improve treatment, emergency care, and patient management for complex conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, strokes, trauma, surgery, and intensive care. This initiative aims to enable timely intervention for many cases on the island within the "golden hour" and reduce unnecessary transfers to mainland hospitals. Specifically, Cho Ray Hospital, a top-tier hospital in the Southern region, will support the enhancement of specialized treatment capabilities. It will provide remote and in-person consultations, manage complex cases, transfer techniques, train medical personnel, and coordinate transfers when necessary. Military Hospital 175 will collaborate on establishing a chain of emergency response, patient transfer, and transportation, particularly for critical cases requiring air ambulance services. They will create a coordination mechanism from information reception, consultation, initial treatment, patient stabilization, to organized transport and handover to the receiving hospital. Military Hospital 175 will also provide training for medical staff in pre-hospital emergency care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, trauma emergencies, patient transport, and the use of specialized equipment according to professional standards. Both partner hospitals will also jointly organize continuous training programs for doctors, nurses, and technicians in Phu Quoc to update their professional knowledge, master new techniques, and improve on-site treatment capabilities. Cho Ray Hospital will also assist in ensuring blood supply for emergency and treatment needs. Phu Quoc International Hospital stated that these agreements aim to form a professional connectivity network with leading hospitals, covering consultations, treatment, technology transfer, human resource training, emergency response, and patient transport. The goal is to enhance local treatment capacity and ensure patients receive timely and appropriate specialized care through a connected treatment journey from Phu Quoc to domestic medical centers. This model will allow residents and tourists in Phu Quoc to receive direct examinations, consultations, and treatments from Cho Ray Hospital's experts locally. Specialized techniques and treatment processes will be gradually transferred, bringing high-quality medical services closer to patients and reducing the need for transfers in many situations. Furthermore, this collaboration will enhance the capacity to respond to emergencies, mass casualty incidents, and severe cases. The expansion of professional connectivity comes as Phu Quoc prepares to host the APEC Summit in 2027 and is oriented to become a center for international tourism, resort, and events. Alongside the development of transportation infrastructure, tourism, and services, the demand for a medical system capable of serving residents, tourists, and large-scale events is becoming increasingly urgent. According to hospital representatives, a medical center serving international events requires not only modern facilities but also the ability for rapid on-site emergency response, specialized on-site treatment, consultations with top-tier experts, transport of critically ill patients, and response to mass casualty incidents. Building upon its synchronized investment in facilities, technology, and specialized teams, the collaboration with Cho Ray Hospital and Military Hospital 175 will enable Phu Quoc International Hospital to meet these demands.
