CPP Welcomes Nearly 3,000 New Members in Phnom Penh District

The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) has officially welcomed nearly 3,000 new members from five communes in the Prek Nu District of Phnom Penh. The induction ceremony took place on July 26, 2026, presided over by Khuong Sreng, a member of the CPP Central Committee, Chairman of the Phnom Penh Municipal Party Committee, and leader of the working group for Prek Nu District. During the event, Khuong Sreng highlighted the significant contributions of CPP President Hun Sen in liberating the nation and saving the people, transforming the country from scratch to its current state of remarkable development. He also reiterated the national vision to become an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050. Sreng emphasized that the CPP has always been at the forefront of protecting citizens' lives, citing Cambodia's successful response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted that the government, led by the CPP, proactively secured vaccines for the population, effectively curbing the spread of the virus and positioning Cambodia as the second most successful country globally in managing the pandemic. He further stated that CPP leadership consistently shares the joys and sorrows of the people, a commitment that led to their overwhelming victory in the 2023 general election. Sreng told the new members that their decision to join is a correct one, recognizing the immense dedication and sacrifices of Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet for peace and national development. Khuong Sreng also mentioned that Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet are committed to developing the nation across all sectors and are resolute in defending national territorial integrity. He urged the new party members to have faith and fully support the actions taken by both leaders regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute and the boycott of Thai goods. He called upon each new member to be a valuable vote for the CPP in the upcoming elections in 2027 and 2028, urging them to support the party for continued national progress. During the event, Thim Sam An, a member of the Phnom Penh Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the Prek Nu District Party Committee, reported on services provided to citizens through the one-stop service mechanism, security maintenance, and infrastructure development within the district, which has earned the trust of the residents. Thim Sam An confirmed that the 2,903 new members joining the CPP in Prek Nu District come from its five communes and expressed determination to secure victory in the 2027 and 2028 elections.
