
Palace denies term extension for Calabarzon police director
Malacañang has denied the request to extend the active service of Calabarzon regional police director Police Brigadier General Hansel Marantan. The Interior Secretary had pushed for the extension citing 'continuity in the execution of critical and ongoing high-impact operations,' but the President rejected the plea. Marantan is set to reach mandatory retirement on July 10, 2026.
