President mentions improper use of authority at checkpoints

There are instances where the authority granted for security reasons at checkpoints, established for regional security and the crackdown on illegal goods, is being improperly exercised, stated the Head of State, President Min Aung Hlaing. This was added by the President in his remarks during a meeting with the Chairman of the Naypyidaw Council, regional and state chief ministers, at the meeting hall of the Head of State's Office on the morning of September 23. It is said that such improper exercise of authority leads to the flow of illegal goods, and as a consequence, the public is suffering from high prices. President Min Aung Hlaing also strongly instructed that these matters should be dealt with effectively and that legal violations should be dealt with effectively in accordance with the law.
