Chiang Rai-Chiang Khong Road Expansion and Interchange Project Progresses
Road expansion and an underpass project connecting Chiang Rai and Chiang Khong in northern Thailand are progressing. These infrastructure developments aim to boost the regional economy and improve logistics efficiency.
Infrastructure development is progressing on key transportation routes connecting Chiang Rai and Chiang Khong provinces in northern Thailand. Specifically, the project includes the expansion of Highway No. 1020 (between Chiang Rai and Chiang Khong) to four lanes and the construction of an underpass at the intersection in front of the Chiang Rai Provincial Hall (Highway No. 1023). These projects aim to enhance logistics efficiency between regions and stimulate economic activity. Chiang Khong, located along the Mekong River, is increasingly important as a hub for border trade with Laos and China. The progress of infrastructure development is expected to improve the convenience of daily life for local residents and also contribute to an increase in future tourism. Source: MGR Online (Business)
